Seeking Peace
Research
Seeking Peace is a collection of pillows and blankets for around the home as means of healing and comfort for individuals who suffer depression after losing their loved one. Creating a space where your loving memories can still exist without the shadow of sadness overbearing you is the goal of Seeking Peace. Being widowed is a stressful life event that involves transitioning and adapting to new roles which are associated with negative stress. Furthermore, the death of a spouse involves changes in living arrangements that may have an impact on the quality of life and mental health in older adults. Death of a spouse is a major life event associated with a high prevalence of common mental disorders, including anxiety and depressive disorders. In comparison the estimate of depression in the background population in the community is 8.5% and 17%. Thus, widowed people are at a high risk of suffering from clinically significant depressive symptoms. The two elements that Seeking Peace hopes to tackle when dealing with widowhood is emotional support and memories. Focusing on these two elements are found to be very effective when comforting a widowed person. Sharing a memory does a lot of good to the soul of someone going through grief. You can support their grief by listening when they want to speak.
Different colors can produce different physical, emotional and psychological effects. While some colors are calming, others are stimulating, Surrounding yourself with appropriate colors can help you harness their unique benefits, such as stress reduction. My color palette greatly relied on calming, relaxing, and peaceful colors. Green: Quiet and restful, green is a soothing color that can invite harmony and diffuse anxiety. Blue:A highly peaceful color, blue can be especially helpful for stress management because it can encourage a powerful sense of calm. White: Bright white can inspire mental clarity. Pink: A soft and tranquil color, pink can inspire a calming sense of peace and balance. The texture of the textiles were super important in successfully reaching my target market, soft, light and fluffy yarns debuted in this collection. Cotton is natural, soft, absorbent, and breathable. Cotton has natural properties that can be enhanced through application of new technologies and innovations. Archroma’s EarthColors® are a responsible solution to dyeing textiles with up to 100% petroleum-free and bioeliminable dyestuff created from agricultural byproducts. Odor & Antimicrobial technologies offer the benefit of versatile antimicrobial options to keep the consumer feeling fresh. These cotton technologies can greatly enhance the wellness of my products.
